Escambia County Jail

PENSACOLA, Fla. — A 33-year-old Pensacola man is facing federal drug trafficking charges after being caught with 286 grams of fentanyl, according to an arrest report.

Jujuan George was indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday of these charges:

  • distribution of fentanyl and cocaine
  • possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana
  • possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense
  • possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon

George’s trial is scheduled for Oct. 6. He faces up to life imprisonment if convicted.

Drug Enforcement Administration officers arrested George on June 17 following a search of a business on Rock Island Place. An arrest report states they recovered 286 grams of fentanyl, 20 grams of meth and six firearms (two stolen) during the search.

The report states officers searched the business after two separate controlled purchases of fentanyl from George using a DEA confidential source.

“[Deputies] received information from the [confidential source] that George stored the narcotics above the ceiling tiles in the back left area of the business,'” officers noted in the report.

According to the report, during the search, George reached into the ceiling tiles “until he ultimately pulled the ceiling tiles down.”

The report states George told officers that the drugs were planted by law enforcement.

George previously spent six years in state prison (2013-19) for carjacking and robbery with a deadly weapon in Escambia County.
