Wood County woman sentenced for drug overdose death

A Wood County woman is facing drug trafficking and involuntary manslaughter charges for allegedly playing a role in the overdose death of a woman in 2023.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WTVG) – A Wood County woman charged in the overdose death of another woman has taken a plea deal, court records show.

Court filings show Caitlyn Henry, 23, took a plea deal in the death of 26-year-old Jordan Holbrook. Prosecutors said Henry was involved in a “substantial drug trafficking operation” involving methamphetamine and fentanyl-related compounds.

According to court records, Henry was sentenced on Sept. 22 to serve seven to nine years in prison. She was given 139 days of jail credit toward the sentence.

She pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated drug trafficking on July 30. The state will dismiss four other charges in exchange for her plea.

According to a police report from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Jordan Holbrook overdosed at Henry’s home, located in the village of Risingsun, in July of 2023. At the time, officers found prescription bottles, various pills, Narcan and tin foil coated in burnt residue inside the home.

Henry is due back in court for sentencing on Sept. 18.
