Julia Roberts Trades Her Signature Dark Auburn Hair for a Vibrant Transformation

Julia Roberts might be one of the most famous redheads of all time, but the Pretty Woman alum isn’t afraid to play around within the copper spectrum—or even leave the ginger chat entirely in favor of a bright honey blonde. Roberts’s dark auburn hair has become the signature she keeps returning to throughout her three-decade-long career, but the After the Hunt actress made a case for going lighter and brighter for spring as she debuted a vibrant strawberry hair color transformation on Tuesday.

In a photo shared by stylist Elizabeth Stewart on November 18, Roberts showed off a bold copper hair color that fell somewhere between red and blonde. In contrast to the darker, richer auburn color she styled into a deep side part at the October 11 headline screening of After the Hunt at the BFI London Film Festival, the Notting Hill actress’s chest-length strawberry blonde hair was styled in middle-parted waves that made her subtle golden highlights and shorter face-framing layers pop. She accentuated her features with bold black eyeliner, light peach lipstick, and a matching blush on her cheekbones.

In a nod to her love of menswear, the Runaway Bride actress posed in a chic cream pinstripe suit from Gabriela Hearst. The tailored blazer featured ‘80s-inspired padded shoulders with a tapered fit through the thigh-grazing design. Wearing a coordinated white button-up shirt covered in pinstripes underneath, Roberts looked ready for the boardroom with a pair of matching high-waisted cream pinstripe slacks that dramatically flared out at the bottom. Wearing her crisp dress shirt slightly undone, she put a cool-girl twist on the classic pearl necklace wearing a layered Gingiberi Jewelry design paired with a dainty gold pendant.

While Roberts went honey-blonde last summer, she was back to being a redhead by February at the Cesar Film Awards. The Steel Magnolias star has been leaning into a cinnamon spice color during her After the Hunt press circuit, including her debut at Venice Film Festival along with husband Danny Moder, but her latest hair transformation hints that she’s slowly transitioning to a lighter color ahead of the end of the year.
