Bruno Mars fans have been left in a state of shock having realised the significant birthday he will be celebrating later this year.
The Just The Way You Are singer became a household name thanks to his dynamic, high-energy stage presence and vintage influences, as well as his successful mastery of various music styles like pop, soul, funk, R&B and more. Bruno Mars was born in Honolulu, Hawaii as Peter Gene Hernandez, and relocated to the United States in 2003 to chase his musical dreams.
He carved out a reputation for himself as a songwriter and, by 2009, had co-founded a record production team, The Smeezingtons, alongside fellow creatives Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine. Mars skyrocketed to fame after featuring as a guest artist on the singles Nothin’ on You, which was released in 2009 by B.o.B, and Billionaire by Travie McCoy, which dropped the following year.
His debut album, Doo-Wops and Hooligans, hit the shelves in 2010 and produced three number one singles, cementing his status as a true star in his own right. His second album, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released just two years later and led to two more US number one singles.
Given his illustrious career, it should come as no shock that the singer will be ringing in his 40th birthday in October. But many fans were still taken aback by this revelation, reports the Mirror US.
TikTok creator, entertainment host and red carpet correspondent Louis Levanti shared a video compilation featuring a variety of celebrities who will be turning 40 in 20215. Of course, Mars was chief among them.
Louis kicked off his list with a disclaimer, saying: “Disclaimer, this video is not made with any ill intent, I think it’s just surprising to see how fast time is moving. ” He then listed celebrities hitting the milestone this year.

Stars featured in Louis’ video included the likes of Dave Franco (June) ; Ashley Tisdale and Chace Crawford in July; Ciara in October, while Amanda Seyfried, Frankie Muniz and Raven Symone all turn 40 in December.
Yet it was Bruno Mars’ age that baffled fans, with Louis adding: “You could tell me that Bruno Mars was any age, any singular number, and I would believe you because I truly have no concept of how old this man could be – but apparently, he’s turning 40 this year.”
TikTok users were quick to express their surprise, with comments like: “This really makes you realize how young 40 is…” Others joked about Bruno Mars’ ageless appearance, saying things like “Literally you could tell me Bruno is either 26 or 76 and I’d be like ‘that checks'”, and “BRUNO MARS??? I THOUGHT HE WAS LIKE 27″.
Another added, marvelling at Bruno’s looks: “Same about Bruno Mars. I’ve never even thought about his age. Ever. [mind-blown emoji].” Some couldn’t hide their shock: “Bruno is turning 40? ! He looks amazing, I thought he was in his mid 20s.” And yet another said: “BRUNO MARS WILL BE 40? ! HE LOOKS FABULOUS”.
