HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man sentenced to 10 years in prison on drug charges is now back behind bars thanks to the tireless pursuit of deputies in Cheatham and Hickman counties.

In 2019, Nathan Warren was convicted of Schedule I Drugs, Possession of Meth with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver/Sell as well as tampering with evidence in Cheatham County.

Instead of going to prison, a judge allowed Warren to have probation.

His sentence was scheduled to expire in 2029.

But warrants from the Cheatham County courts dated from early September indicate that he violated provisions of that probation, and warrants were issued for his arrest.

On Dec. 2, Cheatham County deputies joined Hickman County deputies in Lyles, Tennessee, and began knocking on doors looking for the absconder.

Body camera footage showed the diligent work and sometimes dangerous search through dark and cluttered buildings where deputies were afraid Warren could be hiding.

“Sheriff’s department,” a Hickman County deputy announced. If you are in here, make yourself known.”

The video shows the two officers with weapons extended as they search the cluttered building.

“This would be a hell of a place to hide,” a deputy said.

“Want to make sure we look back in there good because there’s a nice little cubby hole,” a deputy said.

Once the building was clear, the deputies entered another trailer.

The mood has intensified as officers are yelling for Nathan Warren to show himself.

“On your six,” a deputy said.

Hickman County deputies checked a rear bedroom.

“If you are in here, make yourself known, or you will be dog bit,” a deputy exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Cheatham County deputies kept an eye on the front bedroom door that was closed.

When it was clear Warren was not in the back, Cheatham County deputies opened the front door.

That’s where they saw Warren and his girlfriend on a bed.

“Sheriff’s office,” a deputy announced.

“I’ve got two on the bed,” another deputy said.

The deputies entered and ordered the couple out of the extremely cluttered room.

Once outside, deputies asked Warren a plethora of questions.

“You got anything illegal on you?” a deputy asked.

“I don’t think I do,” Warren responded.

“You don’t think you do?” a deputy asked.

“Did you not hear us knocking?” another deputy asked.

It’s at this point — in handcuffs and smoking a cigarette — Warren may have realized he was going back to prison, as he shouted to his girlfriend, who was also being led away by deputies.

“You gonna write me, baby?” Warren asked.

“Bye, I love you, baby,” Warren said.

“This is my last cigarette for a long time,” Warren said.

Warren went to the Cheatham County Jail where he is still being housed.

Hickman County supervisors told News 2 that his girlfriend was arrested for accessory after the fact.
