4-year-old boy with autism found unresponsive in Clermont County pool

PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – A 4-year-old boy with autism is in the ICU after being found floating in a pool.

According to police, it happened at about 3:30 p.m. near SR-132 and White Birch Lane in Amelia.

The boy’s father was watching him, but he got away and made his way outside and toward the family’s pool. As soon as the father realized the child was missing, he made his way outside and found the child unresponsive in the pool.

Fire crews took the child to Children’s Hospital. Police Chief Broxterman said he believes they were able to get a pulse for the child as they were arriving in the hospital, but that the child is still in ICU.
