Cambridgeshire Police carried out a warrant at Ali Chaudhry’s home in Western Avenue, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, on 21 November.
“Chaudhry, 26, threw his jacket out of a bedroom window,” a force spokesperson explained, “but officers discovered cocaine worth up to £9,500 hidden in the pockets.
“They also uncovered cannabis worth up to £225 and two mobile phones.

“Chaudhry was arrested at the scene and initially denied the jacket was his – but officers found his bank card inside one of the pockets.”
The force said that on Friday (19 December), at Cambridge Crown Court, Chaudhry pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, and possession of a Class B drug – cannabis. He was sentenced to five years and six months in prison.
Detective Constable Igor Simonov, who investigated, said: “Chaudhry will be behind bars for this Christmas and the next few. He thought he could get away with hiding these substances, but his actions caught up with him.
“Drugs like these trap people in addiction and cause misery for our communities. Their use is often linked to anti-social behaviour and violence, among other crimes. We’re working hard to tackle the issue and bring drug dealers before the courts. I’d encourage anyone with information about drug supply to contact us.”
Anyone with information about drug dealing can report it to Cambridgeshire Constabulary via the force website or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
