Christmas at Julia Roberts’s house sounds like quite a good time. The romcom queen’s holiday plans sound straight out of a movie, and lucky for fans, she spilled all of her favorite festive traditions.
The Notting Hill star told all during a December 2018 interview on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio. Roberts and her husband Danny Moder share three kids, Hazel and Finn, 21, and Henry, 18 (though they were 14 and 11, respectively at the time of the interview).

Roberts said the holiday isn’t complete with “a good hearty Christmas dinner,” however, deciding how much to feed everyone earlier in the day is always a dilemma in their house. “I do enjoy the practical challenge of Christmas morning mealtime because you don’t want too much, you don’t want to spoil them off the bat,” she explained. “You want to keep a steady blood level going where you don’t get crazy before the big meal.” As for what’s on the menu, Roberts said she makes her family “biscuits and sausage balls or something like that,” with “some fruit, of course.”
But before anyone can even make it downstairs, Roberts said she loves waking up on Christmas morning and partaking in their tradition where “nobody goes into the living room until everybody goes into the living room.”

Roberts also has a holiday guilty pleasure: “Eating cookies for breakfast before I wake up my kids and tell them they can’t have cookies for breakfast.”
It’s a jolly good time through and through. While playing a game of mad libs, Roberts revealed her favorite Christmas song is “Little Drummer Boy,” but got stumped on the best gift she’s ever given. “God, what would it be… I consider myself a rather good gift giver. But I couldn’t say. Something I made probably,” she said. When it comes to holiday movies, you’ll likely find Roberts queuing up Charlie Brown Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life, films she’s loved since she was little.
