Christina Aguilera embodied the ultimate “cool girl” Mrs. Claus during her Tuesday appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” where she wrapped her eyes in tinsel-colored shadow above a baby wing of black eyeliner. The silver-hued makeup glistened in the warm light above her, gliding across her lids and melting into her brow bone.
Wispy lash extensions reached over the shadow, tickling her thin brows. Aguilera was — oddly — without her trademark ruby red lip, a recurring detail in her makeup that quickly became a marker of her early 2000s persona. In the Burbank studio, just weeks before Christmas, the “Beauty” singer opted for a rose taupe hue and clear gloss instead. Meanwhile, her cheeks were flushed with a frosty pink blush, a favorite for many these days, with the “cold girl makeup” trend on the rise once again.
Aguilera is known to collaborate with makeup artist Etienne Ortega, whose A-list client roster includes Lindsay Lohan, Lana Del Rey, Kali Uchis and Becky G. Ortega and Aguilera recently celebrated their 10-year glam-iversary on Oct. 29. “Same duo, same energy,” the makeup visionary wrote on Instagram.
For hair, the Grammy-winning vocalist has kept Igor Rosales in her corner, the talent behind her platinum blowout on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” With a celebrity-packed client list, Rosales has positioned himself at the vanguard of pop culture. Just last week, Rosales styled Kim Kardashian’s 1960s-inspired coquette hairdo for her viral “KimsMas” livestream on TikTok, which amassed millions of views. The look resembled that of Cindy Lou Who’s stiff style, minus the braids.
In November, Rosales imagined Kardashian as a character in “Dune,” slicking her pitch-black hair in a funnel bun and ponytail extension for an event in Rio de Janeiro. Here, she wore a red-hot mesh dress straight from the John Galliano archive and opted for dessert beauty by artist Raoul Alejandre.
While Kim’s makeup forté is certainly a bronzed base with shimmering gold highlights and neutral-toned hues, Aguilera prefers to take a walk on the grunge side, coating her lips in rich burgundy hues and circling her eyes in charcoal shadow as she did at the photo call for “Burlesque: The Musical” back in July.
Indeed, Aguilera presented a festive countenance with Hudson to discuss the upcoming release of her film special, “Christina Aguilera: Christmas in Paris,” honoring the 25th anniversary of her album, “My Kind of Christmas.” She was dressed in a white and red Di Petsa Lace Desire minidress and sky-high Louboutin Miss Z Boots.
