An autistic teenager has gone missing in Perry, according to the Perry Police Department.

The police department says Nyle Frederick is a 14-year-old boy with high-functioning autism and ADHD. The police department said that Frederick has been missing since around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

He was last seen near Morningside Drive and King’s Chapel Road in Perry wearing a black jacket, red shirt, black pants and glasses, according to the police department.

The post says Frederick is not familiar with the area that he is in, and he is afraid of loud noises. He also may be near a pond, creek or other water source, but he does not know how to swim, according to the police department.

The police department says they are actively searching the area where Frederick was last seen with K-9 teams, patrol officers and drone units.

They said that if you see him, you can call out to him from your vehicle but do not get out of your vehicle because that could interfere with the scent tracks the K-9 teams are following.

If anyone sees Frederick or has information on his whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact 911, or the Perry Police Department at 478-988-2800.
