Roblox hit “Steal a Brainrot” gets its first celebrity concert, with Bruno Mars set to play the virtual venue this weekend to promote his new single.
Multiplayer gaming platform Roblox’s smash hit Steal a Brainrot—the first game on the platform to hit 25 million concurrent players after its launch last year—is now a big enough deal to secure its first celebrity collaboration. This weekend, Bruno Mars is due to make an appearance in-game to play a virtual concert promoting his new single.
Bruno Mars will be performing his new single “I Just Might” alongside his 2012 hit “Locked Out of Heaven” in-game this Saturday, January 17, at noon PST. To attend, fans can log into Steal a Brainrot on Roblox anytime once the event is active. The developer, Spyder Games, will occasionally send server-wide messages to greet players, provide bonuses, and other effects.
In addition to the in-game concert, Bruno Mars’ appearance will be accompanied by the opportunity for players to collect Bruno-themed traits and a limited edition Bruno Brainrot. Longtime players who want to help guarantee they catch the Brainrots should ensure they already have room in their base.
Users can head to the event page on Roblox and hit the “Notify Me” button, which will send a reminder to their in-game inbox the moment the event begins.
For those not in the know (like this elder millennial), Steal a Brainrot is a Roblox game based on a meme involving voxel characters based on the Italian brainrot meme, which is itself a series of AI-generated surrealist images and characters. In Steal a Brainrot, players battle it out to acquire these characters, called Brainrots, in a Pokemon-esque collect-a-thon.
The collaboration comes amid a flurry of excitement for Bruno Mars’ upcoming tour and latest album, The Romantic, which drops on February 27. The tour is in such high demand that 30-plus new dates have already been added, for a total so far of nearly 70 shows across North America, Europe, and the UK.
