COLUMBUS, Ohio — A group of Hilliard Darby High School seniors is turning to TikTok in hopes of getting Bruno Mars to appear at their graduation.

The students launched the social media push after the school moved its commencement date because Mars is performing at Ohio Stadium the same weekend.

School leaders said the decision was made out of safety concerns related to traffic.

Every day, the group posts videos aimed at catching the singer’s attention.

“Our ultimate goal is for him to make an appearance at our graduation, but anything as small as a cameo or video in honor of our graduation would be awesome,” senior Alex Eldridge said.

The campaign has gained traction among classmates.

“I was walking in to school this morning and some kid just yelled ‘Bruno Mars,’ and I was like, ‘Welp, that’s me,’” Eldridge said.

Students say they’ve sent numerous messages to Mars’ public‑relations team, hoping for a response.

“Some of the early songs I remember knowing are some of his classic stuff,” senior Max Leder said. “For that, it’s such a big turning point in everyone’s lives there.”

With graduation only months away, the seniors say they’re embracing the spirit of one of Mars.

“Go out of your comfort zone and you’ll never know what will happen,” senior Hannah Leder said.
