A story of the noble sacrifice of maternal love and the kind heart of a rescuer that changed the destiny of an entire small family.
1. A Heartbreaking Encounter by the Trash Bin
The story begins when a kind person went to take out the trash and discovered a stray mother dog who had just given birth right next to the dumpster. Beside her were three tiny puppies, huddled in their mother’s bosom and emitting faint whimpers.
Despite suffering from a severe skin condition, with most of her fur gone and her body emaciated, the mother dog focused all her energy on protecting and caring for her babies. She remained constantly alert, fearful that someone might harm her young.
2. Patient Care in the Darkness
Even though the rescuer was facing financial difficulties due to being unemployed, he could not turn a blind eye to the scene. He continuously brought food, water, and warm blankets to help the dog family survive the cold nights.
Through persistent interaction—from hand-feeding to gentle petting—the mother dog gradually recognized his kindness and began to trust the stranger. He also noticed that her back right leg seemed to have trouble when she moved.
3. The Journey to the Hospital and Unexpected Diagnoses
On the fifth day, after discovering that the treatment costs were not as high as feared, the rescuer and his friends took the entire family to the hospital. There, the mother dog was named Xingyun (Lucky).
The medical examination revealed that Xingyun’s condition was quite complex:

Skin Disease: She was infected with Demodex mites, along with severe fungal and bacterial infections. This was the cause of her damaged skin and constant itching.

Transmission to Puppies: The puppies had also started showing signs of contracting the skin condition from their mother, though not as severely yet.

Age: The doctor estimated Xingyun to be only about 2 to 3 years old.
Despite undergoing numerous tests and skin scrapings, Xingyun remained incredibly well-behaved and cooperative with the doctors.
4. Hope for a Bright Future
Xingyun was admitted to the hospital to begin a long-term inpatient treatment process. In her hospital room, doctors provided plenty of food, water, and specialized medication safe for a nursing mother.
The rescuer felt a great sense of relief knowing that Xingyun’s family was finally safe and receiving professional medical care. Everyone looks forward to the day she fully recovers, when she will undoubtedly return to being the beautiful dog she was meant to be.
