When the rescue team first approached the dog (later named Wu Yi), he was in terrible condition. His fur was severely matted, and his eyes were almost sealed shut by dirt and parasites. Despite his fear, when offered some meat, Wu Yi ate hungrily, revealing that he had been starving for a very long time.
2. The Ride Toward Hope
After building some initial trust, the team decided to take Wu Yi to a grooming and veterinary shop. Because the dog was quite heavy (approximately 35-40kg) and the weather was sweltering, walking over a kilometer was out of the question. The team used a car to transport him. Though Wu Yi experienced some motion sickness and anxiety during the ride, he seemed to sense that he was being taken to a safer place.
3. A Total Makeover
At the pet shop, Wu Yi underwent a specialized care process:

Shaving the Matted Coat: His old, filthy, and foul-smelling fur was completely removed. Beneath the mats, the team discovered skin infections and wounds, particularly under his neck caused by chronic drooling.
