There are moments when the silence of a living being strikes the human heart with overwhelming force. This is the story of Lumi, a small dog found in a state of total exhaustion, lying motionless by the roadside as if he had already surrendered to fate.

When rescuers approached, Lumi was skin and bones, his skin bright red from infection and wounds stretching from his head to his tail. He was so weak he could only stagger away when he saw strangers, seemingly accustomed to being chased away. Looking at his innocent yet enduring eyes, the rescuer could not hold back their tears.
The most shocking revelation came at the hospital: the doctors discovered Lumi was actually just a puppy, only about 3 to 4 months old, weighing a mere 3.6 kg (8 lbs). At an age when he should have been running and playing, Lumi was fighting death all alone.

Lumi’s condition was initially critical; he barely had the strength to stand. However, the little puppy’s will to live was incredibly powerful. Even while receiving IV fluids to stay alive, Lumi tried to wag his tail as a gesture of gratitude to those helping him.

At his new home, Lumi learned for the first time what comfort and love felt like. He responded with sweet little kisses and absolute obedience. As the days passed, the rough, damaged skin began to shed, replaced by patches of soft new fur growing back.
Lumi recovered not only physically but also psychologically. From a terrified dog, he became joyful, clever, and full of positive energy. Even the veterinarians were surprised by his spectacular transformation when Lumi returned for his first vaccinations.
