The bangs are back!
Anne Hathaway is bringing back the bangs.
As we get closer and closer to the Devil Wears Prada 2’s May 1 release, the 43-year-old award-winning actress is getting back into character in the most stylish way possible.
“Making history and creating incredibly unique moments with @annehathaway👏🏼🌟 The Devil Wears Prada2️⃣👠♥️🔥‼️💣🧨,” Hathaway’s hair stylist, Orlando Pita, captioned an Instagram carousel on Wednesday, April 8.
In the first slide, the movie star sat in a chair as Pita put the finishing touches on her bangs with longer pieces on the sides. Her hairstyle also featured an up-do bun.
The photo carousel went on to feature Hathaway’s final look, an off-the-shoulder neutral top with exaggerated sleeves, paired with black leather pants by Vaquera, per Vogue.
Pita’s post also showed the Devil Wears Prada actress posing with her co-star Meryl Streep as the pair did promo for the sequel in Seoul, Korea.
For the 2006 film, Hathaway starred as Andrea “Andy” Sachs, a recent college graduate trying to find her footing in the world of journalism when she lands a job as a second assistant to Streep’s Miranda Priestly, a no-nonsense, legendary fashion editor at New York’s fictional Runway magazine.
Though Andy’s style initially has her high-fashion coworkers wondering if she has “some hideous skirt convention” to go to in her free time, or “plenty more poly-blend” sweaters, she soon rises to the ranks at Runway with a head-turning makeover and the work ethic to boot.
Hathaway has given subtle nods to her character over the years, such as in September 2022 when she sat front row at Michael Kors’ runway presentation for the designer’s Spring/Summer 2023 show with her hair styled in bangs.
She also wore a brown trench coat look, similar to a scene from the original film, after Andy received a makeover from her coworker Nigel (played by Stanley Tucci).
However, what really got fans going was the fact that at the event, Hathaway sat with Vogue’s former editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who many would argue provided the inspiration for Miranda Priestly in the 2006 film.

“It’s been such a Wonderful Trip in Tokyo 🇯🇵 !” Pita captioned another Instagram carousel post documenting Hathaway’s promo looks this week from Japan.
“BTS of how we worked together with an Highly Energy! That energy from the Land of the Rising Sun! The Devil Wears Prada 2️⃣🎬⭐️👠😈 #dwp2 It’s turning out to be a success for the two of you,” he concluded, tagging the actress — wearing a Valentino dress — and Streep.
