Some encounters feel predestined by fate, bringing miraculous changes to both humans and small souls. Dabiao’s story began on a freezing Christmas night, with temperatures dropping to -15°C.
A Meeting in the Bitter Winter Night On Christmas Eve, while walking her dog Dashuai, the owner happened upon a small dog at an intersection. The dog sat motionless in the snow, her body soaked and shivering from the bone-chilling cold. Although she was initially wary and even ran away when she saw the rescue crate, through persistence, they eventually persuaded her to come home.
Overcoming Pain and Fear At the veterinary clinic, they discovered she was a beautiful Border Collie. However, the sad news was that she had a broken leg where scar tissue had already formed, meaning the “golden window” for perfect corrective surgery had passed.
During her first few days in the new home, the dog—now named Dabiao—was incredibly anxious. She couldn’t even finish a small bowl of food and kept her distance. However, thanks to the family’s patience and the companionship of her new friend Dashuai, Dabiao gradually opened up. By the third day, she allowed her new owners to pet her head and began following them closely on walks without a leash.
Dashuai’s Transformation and Doubled Joy Dabiao’s arrival brought a surprising change to Dashuai, who was originally a very calm dog. He became extremely active and lively. Dashuai would even sit by her crate to “encourage” her to eat faster, and the two shared many happy moments playing together during a visit to the grandmother’s house.
An Unexpected Gift at the End of the Journey Dabiao’s story didn’t just end with her own recovery. A wonderful surprise awaited: Dabiao was pregnant and gave birth to five healthy puppies. Despite her exhaustion after labor, she would immediately perk up at the slightest cry from her babies, showing her devoted maternal instinct.
From a lonely, pained soul in the freezing snow, Dabiao now has a large family filled with love. She is truly a “gift from Santa Claus,” bringing immeasurable joy and vitality to the whole family. All the puppies are growing up healthy under the care of their mother and their new family, opening a bright new chapter for everyone.
