Amanda Seyfried is reflecting on a viral red carpet moment.

During a Vanity Fair lie detector test interview with her Housemaid costar Sydney Sweeney, the actress, 40, was asked about borrowing Julia Roberts’ full Versace look at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival.

“Is it true that you asked your stylist if you could borrow this person’s exact outfit at the Venice Film Festival?” Sweeney, 28, asked in the video, which was published on Thursday, Dec. 11.

The Euphoria star also presented a photo of Roberts in an oversize blazer, yellow striped button-down top — both rolled up to the elbows and some buttons undone — and slightly baggy jeans at the After the Hunt photocall on Aug. 29.

Three days later, on Sept. 1, Seyfried hit the festival red carpet in the same exact ensemble at the Testament of Ann Lee photocall.

“I did,” Seyfried replied.

Sweeney then asked, “Did you have to run it by Julia first?” to which her costar said, “We did, yeah.”

“If Julia had said no, would you have held it against her?” the White Lotus alum asked.

Seyfried playfully replied: “Yeah.”

Seyfried and Roberts share stylist Elizabeth Stewart, and after Stewart shared a photo of Roberts in the look, Seyfried commented, “Please let me wear the same outfit.”

Following Seyfried’s own photocall appearance, Stewart took to Instagram to share the actress’ comment and Seyfried’s take on the look.

“Thank you @juliaroberts for your generosity and sustainability 😉 Sharing is caring! ❤️,” Stewart captioned the Instagram post. “#AmandaSeyfried borrows Julia’s @versace photo call look for her own photo call. Thank you #DarioVitale [artistic director of Versace].”

In an interview with Who What Wear published on Wednesday, Dec. 10, Seyfried shared that she has no plans to get cosmetic work, will continue to get to Botox.

“I have a really good dermatologist who tells me that she’s never gonna do anything but put Botox in the same place for the rest of my life,” she told the outlet, which noted that Seyfried pointed to a specific spot on her forehead.

At the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of the historical musical drama on Sept. 9, Seyfried told etalkctv that the “sacrifice” was well worth it.

“I’m an actor and that’s my job and that’s what I love to do,” she told the outlet. “I don’t necessarily need all that in my life. I just like it. The things that I like, I can sacrifice a little. Of course I can.”

She added, “We did make sacrifices, and it was worth it. Every day was fun. We didn’t just survive, we thrived.”
