Bruno Mars has been on a winning streak throughout much of 2026, as is often the case whenever he is in promotional mode. The singer-songwriter dropped “I Just Might” in January, kicking off his latest era as a hitmaking superstar. The tune launched atop multiple Billboard charts, even landing the Grammy champion his first No. 1 debut on the most important songs roster in America, the Billboard Hot 100.

Months later, “I Just Might” holds at No. 1 across a variety of lists and slowly begins to descend on others while “Risk It All,” the second official single taken from Mars’s latest collection The Romantic, hits new peaks on multiple rosters. “I Just Might” has already dominated nearly every tally it has even a shot at controlling, but there is one it has barely missed out on leading.

This frame, “I Just Might” comes within striking distance of dominating one radio chart, but Mars is blocked from the summit by one of the most successful R&B musicians of the day.

Bruno Mars’s “I Just Might” Misses No. 1 Again

Once more, “I Just Might” holds at No. 2 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. The tally ranks the tunes that reach the largest total audiences at radio stations that focus on playing a more mature, adult-leaning side of R&B. “I Just Might” straddles the line between throwback R&B, soul and pop, which has become Mars’s specialty. Eleven weeks into its time on the Adult R&B Airplay ranking, “I Just Might” keeps in second place, its all-time peak.

Tank’s “Control” Blocks Bruno Mars Once More

Mars is forced to settle for the runner-up position as “Control” by Tank leads the way again. The tune is one of the R&B superstar’s 11 No. 1s on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, out of 28 total appearances. Nearly half of all of his winners, five in total, have spent exactly two frames running the show.

Bruno Mars Eyes His Ninth No. 1 Hit

Mars will have to wait for another week before he earns his ninth career champion on the chart, though, of course, that is not guaranteed. Here is a list of all of Bruno Mars’s tunes that have reached No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay ranking.

  • “24K Magic”
  • “After Last Night” with Anderson .Paak and Bootsy Collins
  • “Finesse” with Cardi B
  • “Leave The Door Open” with Anderson .Paak
  • “Love’s Train” with Anderson .Paak
  • “Smokin Out The Window” with Anderson .Paak
  • “That’s What I Like”
  • “Uptown Funk!” with Mark Ronson

Two Silk Sonic Hits Dominated For Double-Digit Frames

Of Mars’s eight chart-toppers, two have ruled for double-digit frames. “Leave the Door Open” and “Love’s Train,” which both come from Silk Sonic – the super duo Mars founded with his friend Anderson .Paak – commanded the list for a lucky 13 periods.

Bruno Mars’s “I Just Might” Stalls Below No. 1

“I Just Might” is one of only three tracks by Mars that have lifted into the Adult R&B Airplay chart’s top 10 but have, at least so far, never made it all the way to No. 1. “I Just Might” is his highest-rising non-leader, while “Skate,” another Silk Sonic cut, and “Please Me,” a collaboration with Cardi B, stalled at Nos. 4 and 8, respectively.

Bruno Mars’s “I Just Might” Dominates Multiple Charts

“I Just Might” is the relatively rare cross-genre behemoth, one that can find space on more than a dozen rankings at a time with ease. At the moment, the lead single from The Romantic takes up space on 18 rosters in the U.S. It holds at No. 1 on half a dozen of those, including the Radio Songs, Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts, and multiple R&B-focused rundowns.
