Launched in December 2023, Fortnite’s dedicated rhythm game Festival has featured several big-name acts, such as Billie Eilish, Metallica, Snoop Dogg and Lady Gaga.
While Fortnite itself is developed by Epic Games, the Festival game mode is developed by Harmonix – the studio behind the Rock Band video game franchise which was acquired by Epic in November 2021.
The game mode allows players to perform solo or in a band on the main stage, where they can play a rotation of “jam tracks”.

Season nine also introduces several enhancements to Fortnite Festival, enabling players to browse their music library alphabetically and an all-time leaderboards for individual tracks.
In December 2024, Fortnite drew a record 14.3 million concurrent players for its Remix: The Finale virtual concert featuring Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, Eminem, and a posthumous tribute to Juice WRLD.
The event surpassed the previous record of 12.3 million concurrent players set during a Travis Scott concert in April 2020.
