Christina Aguilera shared a message for the critics going into the new year, after much chatter about her appearance. Here’s what she’s saying to the haters.

Christina Aguilera knows she’s beautiful in every single way.

The Grammy winner celebrated the end of her busy 2024 with an inspiring video montage. After a year of constant speculation and chatter about her appearance, the “Fighter” singer had a message for the haters for 2025.

“This year, doing something a little different. This is a reminder to everyone that you are your OWN STORYTELLER in your OWN LIFE,” Christina wrote on Instagram Jan. 1.

“No one else can dictate who you are. No one deserves an explanation. I am evolved enough to know that nothing comes easy and no one is perfect. Everyone will judge you. No matter WHAT you do. And/ or what you don’t do.”

“Acceptance comes with accepting yourself first,” she continued. “And the difficult journey it takes sometimes to get there. I celebrate everyone taking the time to put one step in front of the next everyday in order to build the next version of themselves for the better. Allowing yourself grace, patience and respect…”

Alongside her defiant message was some glimpses from her year, which included several clips of her on stage and collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Raye. And she proved family—including fiancé Matthew Rutler, their daughter Summer Rain, 9, and Max Liron, 16, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman—was along for the both at home and on the road.

Christina is no stranger to empowerment. In 2023, the “Beautiful” singer addressed the double standard she has faced as a woman in the public eye who has dealt with the scrutiny that has come with aging.

“It’s a lot of stigma, a lot of old-school behavior and ideals that women have to look a certain way and that it’s shameful to get older,” Christina told Allure in an interview published March 2. “No matter what you do, you’re going to have people that hate on you.”

“I’ve always been a pretty open book about embracing my body, my looks,” she explained. “I think to each their own, and I think we [should] all do what’s right for us, so I don’t believe in judgment where that’s concerned whatsoever.”
