Christina Aguilera isn’t a regular mom; she’s a cool mom!
During a preview clip for her appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ on Tuesday, Dec. 9, the “Beautiful” singer opened up about her two kids, 17-year-old Max Liron, whom she shares with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, and her 10-year-old daughter, Summer Rain, whose father is her fiancé Matt Rutler.
When Hudson, 44, asked Aguilera, also 44, how she earns “cool mom points” with her son, Aguilera admitted it was “tough.”
“It’s tough with kids in general,” she said, “They will call you out for anything and everything. And I’m like, ‘I’ve lived through some things too!’”
She continued, “For sure they keep you humbled, but you do learn through their eyes also and [motherhood] teaches you patience, too.”
Aguilera then went on to share that she and Max are “looking at colleges,” adding, “time flies, it really does.”
One way she can impress Max, Aguilera revealed, is through music, sharing that the teen loved going backstage to meet LCD Soundsystem at the recent Portola Festival, which she also played at. “It was such a vibe, and I got cool mom points for that.”
As for her 10-year-old daughter Summer, whom Aguilera shares with fiancé Matt Rutler, the singer told Hudson that she’s also following in her mommy’s creative footsteps.
“She’s such an artist, she paints, she draws, she makes beautiful masks, and she’s just so creative, but she’s definitely her own thing,” Aguilera said.
“And I never want to push anything on my kids, whatever they’re passionate about, I’m there to support it, but she has taken an interest in acting, so she’s had a few lessons,” she added.

Aguilera went on to share that Summer prefers her in mom mode rather than performance mode and sweetly asks her to take off her stage make-up as soon as she’s done with work.

“So I’m done shooting, Summer’s like, ‘Can you take that off now? I just want to be cozy.’ She just loves my freckles; she loves to see them and asks if she’s going to have freckles one day. She’s the number one mama fan!”
