My Kind of Christmas features 11 beloved holiday classics sung by Christina Aguilera.

Directed by Emmy Award-winner Sam Wrench, known for his work on Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, the film captures Aguilera’s intimate performance before a select audience of 250 guests. The concert is shot against the breathtaking backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, transformed into a shimmering Christmas tree. According to Deadline, the concert unfolds on a winter-garden terrace above the Musée du Quai Branly. The Parisian skyline serves as both a stage and a witness to Aguilera’s powerful vocals and festive spirit.

About the movie

The concert film is more than just a performance; it’s a journey through Aguilera’s personal reflections. Interwoven with her renditions of holiday classics and career-defining hits, the film is reported to feature dreamlike Parisian vignettes where Aguilera contemplates themes of love, motherhood, reinvention and the artistry that has defined her journey. These intimate moments offer fans a deeper connection to the artist behind the music.

Adding a touch of Parisian allure, the film includes a bold cabaret sequence filmed inside the legendary Crazy Horse theater. Here, Aguilera delivers a sultry performance that pays homage to the city’s rich artistic heritage.

Produced by Vertigo Live Productions and Roc Nation, and distributed by Fathom Entertainment, Christmas in Paris will have a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on December 14 and 21. Per Deadline, tickets will be available starting November 7 through Fathom Entertainment and participating theater box offices.

For fans of Aguilera’s holiday music, Christmas in Paris offers a fresh and intimate perspective on her timeless classics. Whether you’re a longtime admirer or new to her festive repertoire, this concert film promises to be a memorable addition to your holiday celebrations.

Celebrating 25 years

It’s truly hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since the release of My Kind of Christmas. Released on October 24, 2000, by RCA Records, this album marked Christina Aguilera’s first holiday collection and her third studio album overall.

Recorded during her promotional tours for her debut and Spanish-language albums, My Kind of Christmas features a blend of classic holiday songs and original tracks infused with Aguilera’s signature dance-pop style. The album includes renditions of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Angels We Have Heard on High,” alongside original songs like “Christmas Time” and “This Year”. Despite mixed reviews, the album achieved commercial success, peaking at number 28 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and earning platinum certification from the RIAA for selling over a million copies.

Lukewarm reviews or not, Christina Aguilera’s Christmas songs are always on my holiday playlist and I’m looking forward to seeing the concert movie when it’s released because man, can that girl sing!
