Christina Aguilera’s Pirate-Inspired Halloween Costume Includes “Shipwrecked Hair”

Christina Aguilera is now “Shipwreck-Tina”—at least according to the singer’s latest Instagram posts. On Friday, the “Dirrty” artist showed off her pirate-inspired Halloween costume, complete with a 3D-printed headpiece.

Created by Chrishabana, the boat-shaped accessory was “melted, fragmented, and painted to emulate the ruins of a shipwreck.” Aguilera paired it with a sleeveless ruffled white dress and a lacy black bra, as well as a corset, fishnet tights, and knee-high boots.

“Love shipwrecked hair,” Aguilera said in a short video as her hairstylist combed her wavy platinum blonde strands. “This is amazing.”

“This is now giving Ursula’s coming and trying to destroy everything,” Aguilera continued, referencing the Little Mermaid‘s evil sea witch.

The pop star collaborated with stylist Chris Horan on her Halloween look. His other A-list clients include Charli XCX and Demi Lovato.

Fans of Aguilera’s will know that fishnets were also a key element of her “Dirrty”-era look, which incorporates edgy fashion elements like chaps and bikini tops. Last month, she revived her 2000s aesthetic during a performance at Portola Festival in San Francisco.

Recreating her music video ensemble, Aguilera broke out chainmail chaps, leather short shorts and a black corset. She paired the layered look with fishnet tights and oversized sunnies, per Page Six.

“Dirrty” is one of many hit singles from the singer’s 2002 album Stripped. Aguilera used the project to establish her alter ego Xtina; it ultimately became one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century.
