(UPDATE: May 9 at 8:40 a.m.) — The Clarksville teen with autism at the center of an Endangered Child Alert has been found safe.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — An Endangered Child Alert has been issued for a teenager with autism, missing out of Clarksville, Tennessee.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports Johnathan Roe is 17 years old, 6’0 and 140 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes. Roe is autistic and has a medical condition that requires daily medication.

He was first reported as a runaway juvenile by Clarksville Police Department, but has since been upgraded to an Endangered Child Alert.

Authorities say he was last seen around 2:30 a.m. on Randell Drive before he ran into a wooded area near his home. Officers have been searching the area since first receiving a call that Roe was missing.

Crews from Stewart County arrived with their tracking dog to assist in the search. The search took place from 5:30 a.m. for an hour with no contact made. Around 6:45 am. Friday, Clarksville Fire and Rescue personnel, who are also assisting in the search, believed they saw Roe, who they say quickly took off.

A Child is Missing has been notified, and Clarksville Police asks anyone who sees Roe in the immediate area of Park Lane and Rebecca Lane to call 911. You can also call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
