CarolinaEast Medical Center welcomed the first baby born in Craven County in 2026 early on New Year’s Day.

Hospital officials say Alora Frazier was born at 3:37 a.m. on January 1, ringing in the new year as the county’s first arrival of 2026. Alora weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.

Proud mom Alexandria Frazier of New Bern says she was ecstatic to welcome her first child on the first day of the new year. Hospital staff say baby Alora was “photo ready” as she marked a special milestone for her family and the community.
