Elyria police arrest 3 people on drug charges after raiding home near preschool

ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) – Elyria police say officers arrested and locked up three suspects Thursday after uncovering four types of drugs when raiding a home.

According to the department, an ongoing drug trafficking investigation led officers to carry out a search warrant at a home on Hodge Court near a preschool.

Inside, police say they found suspected heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine and Xanax as well as drug paraphernalia and cash.

Officers took three people, identified as Tyrell Hicks, 32, Carla Polk, 32, and Lauren Wood, 23, into custody and to the Lorain County Jail.

According to police, all three of them were wanted by other departments prior to Thursday’s bust.

They are now facing a variety of drug-related charges.
