GAYLORD — A 32-year-old Gaylord man was arrested Dec. 18 on an outstanding felony warrant out of Texas, and a subsequent investigation led to the seizure of about 266 grams of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine along with other evidence of distribution from an apartment in Gaylord.

Per a Jan. 2 news release, officers from the Gaylord Police Department assisted Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement with the arrest of Luther Jones.

Jones was lodged at the Otsego County Jail without incident, the release said.

He was arraigned Dec. 19 in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on one count of controlled substance delivery or manufacturing of methamphetamine, one count of controlled substance delivery or manufacturing of cocaine, heroin or other narcotics between 50 and 224 grams, and one count of controlled substance maintaining a drug house, the release said.

Jones was given a $75,000 cash or surety bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 9 at 1:35 p.m.

The defendant is innocent until proven guilty.

Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement was assisted by the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post and the Gaylord Police Department.
