Jacksonville woman charged with felonies for trafficking heroin, cocaine, and meth
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County— A woman from Jacksonville is facing a long list of serious drug charges following her arrest on Monday, Sept. 22.
Amber L. Cannon was taken into custody by Jacksonville police and is charged with multiple felonies, including:
- Three counts of felony trafficking opium or heroin
- Three counts of felony trafficking in cocaine
- Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine
- Felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Carrying a concealed weapon
According to arrest warrants, Cannon was in possession of 58.9 grams of opioids, 30.6 grams of crack cocaine, and 18.6 grams of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest. Authorities also seized several items including clear plastic bags, a glass pipe, a straw, and a purple 9mm handgun.
The warrants further allege that Cannon “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously did knowingly and intentionally keep and maintain” a black four-door sedan for the purpose of storing and selling controlled substances, including meth, crack cocaine, and fentanyl.
Cannon remains in custody at the Onslow County Jail under a $360,000 secured bond. She appeared in court on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The investigation is ongoing.
