MANSFIELD — A man was arrested and cash and suspected drugs seized following a Monday raid in Mansfield, according to a press release issued by the METRICH Enforcement Unit and Mansfield Police Chief Jason Bammann.

Emmanuel Washington, 47, was arrested on charges including three counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine, officials stated in the press release. Both are first-degree felonies.

Further drug-related charges will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office, Lt. Steve Blust noted.

METRICH reported that it seized approximately 91 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and other illegal drugs as well as $975 in U.S. currency and drug-related evidence.

METRICH detectives, with the assistance of the Mansfield Police Department, executed a drug-related search warrant at 631 West Fourth St., Mansfield.

The search warrant was authorized by Mansfield Municipal Court Judge Michael Kemerer. The search included a residence and two vehicles.

The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to target those bringing and distributing illegal drugs within our community and encourage citizens to continue to report suspected drug activity.
