Man who shoved drugs up his rectum and injured officers during his arrest sentenced to prison

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A man who was convicted of placing narcotics in his rectum and injured two officers during his arrest was sentenced to prison on Tuesday.

According to court records, Deontae Brown, 26, appeared in court on Feb. 11 where Judge Lindsay Navarre sentenced him to serve two years in prison.

According to a Toledo Police report, Brown was spotted selling drugs at the intersection of Bancroft and Franklin on Aug. 15. He allegedly got into a vehicle and drove away, but was pulled over by officers, who located the drugs.

The report states that Brown told officers he had put more narcotics in his rectum.

Brown then attempted to run from officers, “only making it a couple of feet. Brown was in a full-on meltdown,” the report stated. “He tried to slip his cuffs, bit officers, create a fake seizure and create self-inflicted injury by smacking his head against the concrete.”

Brown also injured two officers in the altercation, breaking the wrist of one and hurting another’s elbow. He was treated at the hospital, then arrested.

On Aug. 22, a Lucas County grand jury indicted Brown on two counts of Assault, both fourth-degree felonies. He pleaded not guilty on Aug. 29.

Then, on Jan. 28, he withdrew his previous not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to Assault, a fourth-degree felony.
