JACKSON, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman from North Carolina was arrested in Jackson County allegedly in possession of nearly $550,000 worth of suspected cocaine.
On Wednesday at about 6:15 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle traveling well above the speed limit on U.S. 35 at the East Broadway Street exit.
During the stop, a K-9 unit was deployed and alerted troopers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Further inspection of the vehicle revealed suspected cocaine hidden inside.

According to the patrol, troopers seized 17 packages, weighing 46 pounds of suspected cocaine. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is believed to be around $546,000.
The driver of the vehicle, Justice Simon, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was taken into custody without incident and is being held in Jackson County Jail. Simon, 29, is facing charges of felony drug possession and drug trafficking.
