Charlotte rapper DaOnly Stevo was shot and killed in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 21st. The shooting took place in the early hours of the morning near the Spectrum Center in Uptown Charlotte.

The incident occurred at around 12:45am at the Brooklyn Nightclub and Lounge on North Caldwell Street.

cording to WBTV, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that the shootout was the cause of a confrontation between two groups.

Charlotte Alerts reports that DaOnly Stevo was the victim. The 26-year-old, officially identified as Steven Wheeler, was a popular local rapper who was murdered at the scene after several shots were fired. No suspects are currently in custody.

Three people have been killed at the Brooklyn Nightclub and Lounge since July. Nekisha Cosey lost her 27-year-old son, Gabriel, on July 5th.

Speaking on the recent incident, she said, “I knew that if something didn’t happen within the city, that this was going to happen again there. I wanted to make it my own personal mission that no other parent would have to feel that.”

She added, “We need to get justice for our sons, and we need to make sure this place is shut down. You can’t even go out and have a good time anymore because people don’t know how to act.”

DaOnly Stevo was behind several tracks, including ‘Hard to Kill’, ‘6 Missed Kalls‘, ‘Send a Message’, and ‘On the Ground’.

Many people took to Facebook to pay tribute to Stevo. One person wrote, “You fucked me up with this lil brudda. DaOnly Stevo forever poppin it for u bro i NEVER could of seen this day….from ranson, hopewell, or just driving u around in the V. This hurts… when you said ‘I love you’ i always said ‘I love you more’ i stand on that lil bro im so sorry. this shit broke me.”

Another person wrote, “I’m so sorry this happened to you brotha. U was just really getting back to feeling like yourself. You will FOREVER live inside of me. If I would have known I would be hearing your voice fa the last time yesterday DaOnly Stevo im sorry I missed u an u didnt made it to pull bac up. i love u so muchhhh.”
