BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested seven members of a local music label after a drug bust on Tuesday.
According to the sheriff’s office, the EBRSO Gang Intelligence and Enforcement Unit investigated an alleged drug operation ring in the Belaire neighborhood. During the investigation, agents learned that it involved members of the “Spider Nation” rap label. Deputies reportedly bought fentanyl and methamphetamine from several members of the group. The suspects used seven locations in Baton Rouge and one location in Livingston Parish.
The sheriff’s office conducted search warrants of the following locations:
- 12400 block of Robbie Avenue
- 12400 block of Warfield Avenue
- 10200 block of Airline Highway
- 4500 block of E. Essen Heights Court
- 1700 block of Brightside Drive
- 1300 block of Rosenwald Drive
- 1400 block of Plaza Drive
- 26900 block of Village Drive (Livingston Parish)
After completing the search warrants, deputies seized the following items:
- 533 dosage units of pressed fentanyl
- 5.54 ounces of fentanyl (1,540 lethal doses)
- 343 dosage units of Alprazolam
- 122.6 grams of methamphetamine
- 82 dosage units of methamphetamine
- 78.3 grams of cocaine
- 4.9 grams of crack cocaine
- 59.5 ounces of promethazine
- 16 ounces of promethazine with codeine
- 54.3 ounces of marijuana
- 8 dosage units of Adderall
- digital scales
- $33,635
- seven handguns (1 reported stolen)
Two of the nine suspects were arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Five were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, and the remaining two are still at large.
Kartez McKneely, 33, was arrested and booked in the LPSO Detention Center on the following charges:
- Three counts of distribution of Schedule II drugs
- Two counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Operation of a clandestine fentanyl lab
Chasity Banks, 31, was arrested and booked into the LPSO Detention Center on the following charges:
- Illegal carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
- Possession of marijuana
Tavion Moore, 26, was arrested and booked into the EBR Parish Prison on the following charges:
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II drugs
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I drugs
- Illegal carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Money laundering
Joe Anderson, 31, was arrested and booked into the EBR Parish Prison on the following charges:
- Two counts of distribution of Schedule II drugs
Demaris Carter, 40, was arrested and booked into the EBR Parish Prison on the following charges:
- Distribution of Schedule II drugs
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I drugs
- Four counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drugs
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule IV drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Illegal carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Illegal carrying of a firearm with drugs
Terrence Robertson, 30, was arrested and booked into the EBR Parish Prison on the following charges:
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I drugs
- Four counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drugs
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule IV drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Illegal carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Illegal carrying of a firearm with drugs
- Obstruction of justice
- Resisting an officer
Quentiss Jackson, 32, was arrested and booked into the EBR Parish Prison on the following charges:
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I drugs
- Four counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drugs
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule V drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Illegal carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Illegal carrying of a firearm with drugs
- Obstruction of justice
- Resisting an officer
- Battery of a dating partner (warrant)
- Child endangerment (warrant)
- False imprisonment (warrant)
- Battery of a dating partner by strangulation (warrant)
- Two counts of violation of a protective order (warrant)
Jimmy Veals, 35, remains at large. He is wanted on charges of two counts of distribution of Schedule II drugs. Frederick Robertson, 34, is still at large and is wanted on illegal carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon.
