Jeffersontown Police play the Grinch, stopping more than 55 pounds of meth disguised as holiday packages.

Jeffersontown Police, working with the Kentucky State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration, arrested Jacob Talamantes, 23 of Nebraska, after seizing more than 55 pounds of suspected methamphetamine wrapped to resemble Christmas presents.

The arrest occurred Dec. 22, 2025, during a narcotics investigation in the 11500 block of Bluegrass Parkway.

Detectives encountered Talamantes after he arrived in a vehicle. He attempted to walk away from officers but was detained. A police K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics during an exterior sniff of the vehicle. A search of the trunk uncovered multiple boxes wrapped in Christmas paper.

Investigators said the packages contained suspected methamphetamine.
