A traffic stop in Orange County led to the seizure of a significant amount of suspected narcotics and the arrest of two people, police said.

The stop was conducted last week in Port Jervis, when officers on patrol pulled over a rental vehicle and launched an investigation, the Port Jervis Police Department said on Thursday, Jan. 1.
Police said officers recovered around 84 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 3 grams of suspected cocaine, and a large quantity of glassine envelopes containing an unknown substance that is being sent for laboratory testing.
A female passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant related to drug offenses, police said.
The driver was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance/narcotic, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, according to police. The driver is currently being held at the Orange County Jail.
The suspects’ names were not released by police.
