Daniel Severinsen was caught after a brief foot pursuit after deputies served two warrants on him.

DECATUR, Ala. — A Decatur man is behind bars after leading Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies on a chase after they served him with two warrants.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Severinsen ran from police after being served two warrants revoking his probation. He was armed, but finally complied with commands to drop his gun and was taken into custody.

Severinsen, 40 of Decatur, was arrested on two outstanding warrants and charged with:

  • Resisting Arrest
  • Weapons-POPACOCOV Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Attempting to Elude a Police Officer
  • Dangerous Drugs-PPC Promote Prison Contraband (Drugs)
  • Warrant- Probation Revocation: Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute
  • Warrant- Probation Revocation: Possession/Receipt of a Controlled substance

Severinsen is being held in the Morgan County Jail with no bond.
