Two individuals have been arrested following the conclusion of an investigation conducted by the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office into the trafficking of pressed fentanyl pills in the Princeton area.

Investigators have conducted several controlled purchases of fentanyl from Sha’zire White in and around the Princeville area since July 2025. More than 11,000 pressed fentanyl pills were seized from White, with the street value estimated to exceed $70,000, according to ECSO.

A search warrant was executed at a residence on Howard Street in Princeville on Tuesday, Dec. 30, which was identified as White’s residence. ECSO says that White was located inside the residence, in a bedroom with a female, Tramya Stokes.

Investigators seized over 960 grams (approximately 2.1 pounds) of fentanyl, a Glock 19 handgun, extended magazines, U.S. currency, and drug packaging materials and paraphernalia during the search of the residence.

Both White and Stokes were arrested without incident, and both were taken before Magistrate Sumner and received no bond.
