Molito was found on the streets of Chepo in a state of total exhaustion. Despite being only 7 to 8 months old, this little pup had faced nothing but indifference and being shooed away throughout his short life. When the rescue team approached, Molito was merely a skeletal frame, starving and too weak to even lift himself up.

After being rushed to the clinic, the doctors delivered a series of devastating diagnoses:

Ehrlichia (Tick-borne disease): Destroying his blood cells and leaving him severely anemic. His hemoglobin level was at a critical 6—a level so low he almost required an immediate transfusion.

Kidney Failure: His body was losing the ability to clear out toxins.

Chronic Sarcoptic Mange: Resulting in constant pain, itching, and open wounds across his skin.
Molito was so fragile that doctors warned even giving him a bath was a major risk at that time.
