A Rescue at the Intersection
Sprout was discovered in the middle of a road, so severely matted that she could barely walk. A concerned driver spotted her and flagged down a police officer. Because of her massive size and the sheer volume of her neglected coat, the police had to use a large wagon vehicle to transport her to safety.
Rescuers believe Sprout had been neglected for a long time, possibly kept outside or chained, which caused her fur to become a heavy, painful shell.
Uncovering the “Secret” Dog
At the clinic, the grooming process took several hours of careful work. The result was staggering: rescuers removed 32.4 pounds of matted fur. Carrying that much weight was essentially like Sprout had been carrying another medium-sized dog on her back 24/7.
Once the layers of filth and fur were gone, a completely different dog emerged. Rescuers were shocked to discover she was likely a Tibetan Mastiff, a majestic breed that requires significant care and attention.
Healing with Love and Pajamas
