Cristina Colturi was fatally injured in the accident in Tenerife
A young woman has died in a horror paragliding accident in a holiday destination popular with Brits.
Cristina Colturi was on a tandem paragliding flight near the tourist beach of La Enramada in Costa Adeje, Tenerife, when tragedy struck. The 28-year-old Italian national was fatally injured when she and her instructor crashed in a rocky area.
The emergency services arrived on the scene but Cristina was already in cardiac arrest, as reported by NeedToKnow. They managed to revive her on the beach before she was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Her family reportedly authorised the removal of her organs for donation and, as per her wishes, made arrangements for her burial in Tenerife.
Cristina, who originally came from Castelnuovo Bozzente near Milan, worked as a colour analyst in a hotel on the Spanish island.
She wanted to try paragliding again after first embarking on a flight in Italy a year before. It has been reported that her partner bought her the excursion as a gift at Christmas.
Meanwhile, the paragliding instructor suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident and is receiving care at the South Tenerife Hospital.
