Young Bleed fighting for life after suffering brain aneurysm
Young Bleed was taken to the hospital earlier this week in critical condition. Now, details have emerged about the cause of the Baton Rouge rapper‘s hospitalisation.
Reports surfaced that the 47-year-old was rushed to the ICU on October 28th, where he was fighting for his life.
According to TMZ, his hospitalisation was the result of a brain bleed caused by an aneurysm, and he’s currently on a ventilator in Las Vegas. However, his body’s important internal organs are stable.
The mother of his 10-year-old son, Tameka Long (also known as Madamm Week), says the rapper had been dealing with high blood pressure and a heart condition for a while.
Bleed’s mother launched a GoFundMe page to pay for medical bills. In a message, she wrote, “This was completely unexpected and has turned our world upside down. Glenn is receiving critical care and fighting hard, but the road to recovery is uncertain.”
Death rumours spread online following Bleed’s hospitalisation, which prompted his sister, Tedra, to shut down the chatter in a Facebook post.
“This will be my first and last post,” she said. “We are receiving a tremendous amount of calls about my big brother Glenn, Tank, Young Bleed. If you have not called his mother personally, please do not post about him.”
She continued, “Our family ask that you respect our privacy and hold all calls and text at this time. He is still currently in ICU and his mother asked if you all would respect her wishes and not make any RIP post.”
Bleed (real name Glenn Clifton Jr) is best known for being signed to Master P’s No Limit Records in the 1990s, releasing his debut album My Balls and My Word on the label, which broke into the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
