Rihanna, 38, made her usual fashionably late entrance on the Met Gala 2026 red carpet in New York City on Monday, wearing a dazzling metallic Maison Margiela gown for the “Costume Art”-themed event.
In addition to a jewel-covered bodice, the head-turning design included an iridescent silver skirt and matching shawl.
The Fenty Beauty mogul added extra sparkle courtesy of three large diamond rings and an ear stack, featuring matching hoops and Briony Raymond and Dyne ear cuffs.
Even her glam was iridescent, as she topped off the look with spiral-shaped gold hair accessories and sparkly face gems.
Boyfriend A$AP Rocky accompanied her, clad in a pink Chanel smoking jacket with matching diamond earrings.
The “Love On the Brain” singer has been the most anticipated arrival on the Met steps for over a decade — even when she doesn’t show up. She sat out the 2024 gala with the flu after teasing a relatively “simple” look that relied heavily on hair and makeup.
She more than made up for it last year, revealing her third pregnancy in a Marc Jacobs pinstriped suit with a bump-hugging bustier, sculptural bustle and polka-dotted cravat. It wasn’t the first time she broke baby news on a grand stage, having announced her second pregnancy during her Super Bowl halftime show performance in 2023.
That same year, she and Rocky had fans guessing whether they’d secretly married when she swept into the Karl Lagerfeld-themed Met Gala wearing a voluminous white Valentino gown with a floral cape and dramatic train.
But it’s Rihanna’s 2015 appearance that remains the gold standard. The yellow fur-trimmed Guo Pei imperial gown she wore to the “China: Through the Looking Glass” gala spawned countless memes — and cemented her as the undisputed queen of the carpet.

Other standout moments include her floral explosion by Comme des Garçons for “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art Of The In-Between” in 2017 and the pearl-encrusted, papal-inspired Maison Margiela minidress, robe and mitre she wore to host “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” in 2018.
Rihanna shares sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, and daughter Rocki, 8 months, with Rocky.
