Caroline, 5, who is on the autism spectrum, melted hearts online after asking for one of her favorite singer’s songs to be played for her worm
For Caroline, it was just another afternoon spent outside — one filled with curiosity, music and a tiny creature she cared deeply about.
For her family, it became a moment they’ll never forget.
The 5-year-old, who lives about an hour south of Chicago, is known for her gentle, empathetic nature — especially when it comes to animals, bugs and what her family calls “all of earth’s little creatures.”
“Caroline is a very special empathetic child,” her grandmother Amanda, who goes by @manda.bee123 on TikTok, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “She loves all animals and bugs and all of earth’s little creatures. She treats them all with love and kindness.”

On the day the now-viral video was filmed, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Caroline had found a worm — later named Mira — and, as she often does, began playing with it gently, treating it with the same care she shows all creatures.
But then came a request that caught her family off guard.
“As usual Caroline was playing with the worm she found, and asked her mom if she would play Noah Kahan for her worm,” Amanda says.
It wasn’t just a passing idea — Caroline knew exactly what she wanted.
“She names the specific song too… the title is ‘Orange Juice,’ but Caroline went a step further and requested the song using multiple lyrics,” Amanda says.
For Caroline, the moment carried a deeper meaning — one her family instantly recognized.
“When Caroline listens to Noah Kahan, we believe she feels the music, more than just hearing it,” Amanda adds. “And this is what made this moment feel so special to us.”
In the moment, Caroline’s mom, Gianna, captured it on video — a simple, sweet interaction she thought might just make a few loved ones smile.
Later, she sent the clip to Amanda, who decided to share it on TikTok, hoping friends and family would see it and have their day brightened.
“The night I posted the video, it had a few comments and shares, and people were tagging Noah Kahan,” Amanda recalls. “I didn’t think too much about it.”
By morning, everything had changed.
Amanda woke up to hundreds of TikTok comments, and one that stood out above the rest.
Kahan himself had responded.
“that worms gonna have some complicated feelings,” the singer, 29, commented.
For the family, the moment wasn’t just about going viral, or even about hearing back from one of their favorite artists.
“In that moment I felt like I won the lottery,” Amanda says. “I woke everyone up in the house with excitement, called almost everyone I know just to tell them that NOAH KAHAN commented! LOL.”
“Life, in general right now is so stressful and ugly for a lot of people,” Amanda adds. “I hope that just for a moment anyone that watched this video took a pause, and enjoyed something so pure just motivated by love.”
